Sholam

Michael Peach

If Esau and Jacob’s kin would but unite And form a single state, Palistrael, Some citizens would seek to spread the light And try to save us all from needless hell. For they’d emerge with hope from this brave land To heal mankind with words of love and peace; Backed by good deeds and the Creator’s hand, They’d urge Earth’s patriarchs their harm to cease. In synch a creed, Sholam, would likewise appear, Proclaiming the true worth of every soul Not just the faithful and those who evil fear: One’s spark, which merges with God, is bright and whole. +Should they do what folk in this sweet dream would dare, +Today’s young people could the world repair.
